Haptec provides information how the sense of touch can be used as a target-oriented source of perception. For that, Haptec performs psychophysical tests to understand how people process tactile information and evaluate textures. The results of Haptec’s research set standards for perfect design of haptic surfaces.

Almost unconsciously, we obtain information about texture properties through tactile stimulation of the skin:

• A product feels pleasant or unpleasant when we touch it, a bank note feels authentic or counterfeit. The design of a haptic surface attracts or holds off - again, mostly uncounscious.
• The specific surface of an object becomes the differentiating factor. By feeling the character through our sense of touch we also recognize the value.
